I spent a few hours playing ... I have never in my life practically fallen asleep while gaming. I've never played something that didn't manage to engage me in some way.

I also never finished and that was mainly because I ran over 150 mods that made the game so much more interesting and the world so lush, I spent most of my time just wandering and "living" in it. I lost interest in the plot completely.

Starfield is the most uninteresting space game I've ever played ...

I remember that in you spend a lot of time initially on the Citadel, getting your bearings, doing side quests, and just kind of getting a feel for things ... it took a while before the game kind of let you off on your own to fly around and discover things ... to get into the meat of the world and your role.

Starfield is kind of like that for me so far ... there's nothing that makes me want to keep playing except the hope that it opens up more but right now ... Zzzzzz ...

Their response to people's feelings is very telling. They don't care at all.

has a ton of problems but that game had me hooked from the beginning and never let up even when I hated 90% of the main characters 🤣

There's just more out there to play and spending time with something so empty and lifeless and that the developers themselves don't seem to care about is a waste of time.

There's so many games out there that are full of quality. So ... I'll get back to Starfield maybe someday. Too bad though.

@thewebrecluse Wow. My experience has been completely different, but each player enjoys games differently. :)

@Synical It's entirely possible this isn't a game for me. While I loved Mass Effect and I still enjoy No Mans Sky which really is very open and doesn't have a set plot at all ... and I played Wing Commander and Privateer and all the classics back in the day ... there is something about the feel of Starfield that is sucking the life out of me. I guess I just want something new after decades of gaming ... it doesn't feel innovative or unique or different at all.

@Synical Mass Effect was the same thing ... touch alien artifact, have vision, spend the entire game ... and 2 others ... understanding what that vision meant and how your play into the overall story and grand design of the universe etc ... its so old ... been done ... not unique. It's 2023 ... I just was expecting something truly different.

@thewebrecluse Gotcha. For me, I tend towards exploration, crafting, and completionist type play-throughs. For example, I was I think level 6 before I even made it to New Atlantis. I'm pretty sure I'm still on the very beginning quests (Sarah is still my companion and I haven't finished either of the chains her "friend" gave out), and I hit level 20 earlier today.

As my wife says, I've never met a side quest I didn't love, or a crafting recipe I didn't want to try! 😜

@Synical Yeah I'm not a completionist and maybe its because I just don't have that much time to dedicate to it. I did spend TONS of hours in No Mans Sky flying around, building a base, collecting ships and just forging my own story in it ... I liked that sandbox kind of aspect. I only just picked up Sarah ... passed the Vanguard test but didn't join yet. I just started off with her to Mars so I'm not that far in it all. I did most of the sides on Jemin to build up some credits first.

@thewebrecluse

I almost pulled the trigger on this one as im desperate for a new solid sci fi game that isnt star wars or star trek.

I decided not to since i already have no mans sky which i havent fully tackled to the ground yet.

Ive got oodles of patience so ill wait.

@AkomoCombine Save your money unless you really like this kind of stuff ... it's worth it if you have money to spare and plenty of time on your hands and NO OTHER QUALITY GAMES TO PLAY ...

@thewebrecluse

Im also interested in this Zack Snyder's , Rebel Moon and possible gaming aspects is what ill be looking for in that movie -series.

Thank you to you actually...😁

@thewebrecluse That's a bummer. There's been such an over-emphasis on graphics from major companies. It's not the end all be all they seem to think it is. Things like storyboard, development, world building, mechanics etc. just go by the wayside.
Meanwhile you've got indie companies trying to bring us cool, creative games and getting no reach.

@Chime_Witch AMEN to this truth. I'd much rather play and unique indie that has something to really offer by way of a truly interesting experience than something that took a million years to make, requires a ridiculously expensive graphics card just to look good, and is kind of soulless.

@thewebrecluse How the hell you make space boring also? It's a merciless vacuum where understood physics go to die. It's full of untapped unexplored wild shit. It's got so. much. potential. Metroid and Halo were my JAM growing up.

@Chime_Witch Well according to Bethesda ... space is boring and no astronauts were ever bored so gamers shouldn't be either.

@Chime_Witch You would get along with my tribemate. Those were his games ❤️ I loved Halo by the end ... I will die on the hill that it's basically a love story about Master Chief and Cortana 👍🏾
