Thanks to everyone who received my thoughts this morning with such openness and positivity.
It's one of the things I really do love about CoSo ... that I can be myself without fear and death threats ... it's sad that I even have to say that that has been my experience expressing my thoughts and philosophy of life on other platforms ... actual death threats that warranted police investigation even.
It's nice to be among people who value positive thoughts and engagement and self-reflection. ❤️

I suppose there are other people who have experienced that, and it's no wonder peole are a little jittery. Holy crap. I'm so sorry.
Just.... trying to hold you and anyone who's had that happen to them in a super safe bubble. 💜 🤗
@janallmac Oh I had so many ... you have no idea. Terrifying. When I was running my magazine even in the early 2000s someone sent me a dead animal in the mail with threats ... people are unwell ... and to have such EXTREME responses to something so benign like a film or television review, opinions on books or video games or just philosophy quotes indicates deep mental illness. People need help and social media just makes mental health issues worse for many.

Dang. I mean. I've had my feelings hurt on occasion, what can I say, I'm human, but mailing people dead animals is an extremely extreme messed up response that I cannot really comprehend. 🤯 Dude. No words.
@janallmac My life - online and off - has been filled with (starting with my family) people who are so unwell and in need of help and healing.
I have been on the receiving end of so many people's undiagnosed or untreated mental illness since birth.
I have been "protecting my peace" and making conscious decisions about my own wellness since an early age and that continues on today. It's helped me to heal and become a better person for those around me.

Hate that a lot. Agree that SM can be lighter fluid for toddlers* and/or the unwell.
I think mailboxes were the precursor to social media's anonymous drive-by's. Ours would be periodically smashed.
*for lack of a better term. I like toddlers.
A friend of @IronButterfly calls actual toddlers "mobile infantry" ❤️ and I like that SO much. 😆
I refer to adult toddlers who can't think for themselves, have no emotional control, and who rage over everything what the Greeks called "the mob" ... dangerous, single-minded, powerful, and you either appease them or suffer their wrath or separate from them completely and walk your own path.

People do experience death threats. J said he had, and others had too. Literal, actual death threats. Plus the murders that we all hear about constantly are a form of death threats.
It's no wonder people feel unsafe and sometimes choose to lash out.
My death threat on #twitter included this photo. Although reported, I got no response.

That would not happen on CoSo, I know that.
So one of my goals in life lately has been to make things a little bit safer for people and I have managed to do that in my neighborhood, yay, but I don't know what to do about it in the world at large.
So many people deal with threats to their very existence. It's a wonder any of us are sane anymore. 💔
@janallmac @LnzyHou to be sane one must look in, not out.
People have to do the work to recognize when they are becoming like the environment they spend the majority of their time in and determine if that's really who they want to be.
Unfortunately, that takes a lot of critical thinking, self-awareness, and the ability to see beyond willful delusions ... all of which are hard for many people.
You can't heal pain until you can see the pain. Most are blind to it and just following the herd.
Have seen that here over the last few days. Imagine not shocking to you. Deeply shocking to me.

@LnzyHou @janallmac On CoSo, I only see what I choose ... so I haven't seen anything but epicnes from those I follow or who engage with me. Everything else ... I have no interest in and it is probably what I imagine to be soul-tainting seethposting from people who have no other outlet for their illness and anger ... I have zero interest in letting any of that into my space. It's so unhealthy and I value myself and my health.

@LnzyHou @janallmac I'm just being me. ❤️ Some people like me and most people do not, but we can only ever be who we are; true to ourselves and that's what matters. Ideally, you don't want to be someone who delights in hurting others, but there are plenty of those unwell people out there.
