I dunno. I've had more than one friend, both gun owners of course, tell me I should at least arm myself with a shotgun for home security use. This was some time ago earlier this year as things really started to get uncomfortable in society as a whole. ... I may, just maybe. I don't think my wee bb and pellet rifles will do enough. Jut thinking out loud here. What do you all think?
We had a couple handguns. Sold them at a gun shop this year. Not needed for anything.
I think that statistics show that owning the gun greatly increases the chances of someone who lives at your house getting shot, accidentally or otherwise.
In fact, I KNOW it.
@thereg001 Get a shotgun. Either a 410 20 or 12 gage depending on how much kick you can handle when you shoot it. The 410 kicks the least, the 20 a little more and the 12 has the most kick. Good luck! π π€

I'm looking at high-powered, accurate slingshots (hundreds of models on eBay), that shoot ball bearings (or anything!)...
They're $15 to 60... haven't made up my mind yet.

I had one as an early teen. Probably used it a dozen times before my parents took it away just because. "What are you doing with that?" My answer, "just playing target practice with tin cans" was not good enough. Maybe because they knew I had been bullied here and there.

@thereg001 kiddo wants a shotgun, but HATES "modern sporting guns" (AKA AR-15 style). i kinda wish i had my dad's hunting shotguns now, but we do have BB, pellet &.22s, and a handgun. i also have a crossbow, & two longbows. i need more crossbow bolts
