So I’m looking for an apartment and I’ve been on the Facebook marketplace and this is like the fifth or sixth one of these I’ve come across and it’s a three bedroom three bath house for $950 a month rent and it’s a scam because I almost fell for it. I got wise on another one I had looked at which was for $500 a month and they seemed legit until like they wanted the specific company to run my credit report and they wanted to charge me for it.
So there’s this credit company wanted to charge me to run my credit report they wouldn’t accept credit, karma, or in anything there any other credit you know none of the card nothing from any other credit bureaus nothing and they wanted me to like get this gift card and put the money on that and send it to them and then I would be subscribed at $30 a month to this credit agency and I had no way to cancel it once you subscribe to it and the whole thing smells really fishy.
@VelvetDuchess
There are only three credit bureaus that are legit in the US. You can point them to them all. Experian, TransUnion, and, Equifax. All others are simply there to make money hand over fist from you, or as you correctly describe as scams.
PRO Tip: create an account with each I mention above and freeze your credit. That way no one will be able to easily steal your credit with a fake ID posing as you. Lock 🔒 it tight.
@thereg001 I froze my credit report after the first Social Security hack I got really concerned and now they say there’s another one that involves like billions of people it’s been kind of like floating around on YouTube about it I don’t. I don’t know all the particulars and I don’t want to.
