: What's funny about "AI" is that the things many of us said would happen but were told we were dumb, didn't know everything/anything, weren't "seeing the big picture", were Luddites, etc. are the things that've happened and continue to happen, to the point that actual AI experts, not fans of AI, are warning of it- well, at least telling people of "potential curves in the road ahead".

"AI" doesn't have a mind of its own and relies on input from other AI and from humans. Yeah, it's fast, but 🤷‍♂️?

I and others haven't said the technology isn't and cannot be useful and even muy advantageous. We've said it has limits and that its developers, programmers, etc. and its fans are prone to overenthusiastic fantasizing and overselling, especially to investors and to politicians.

A computer is a filing cabinet with a phone line, and the internet is a vast warehouse of filing cabinets connected to one another. Both only do what they're told to do and way quickly. That's it.
