@cassandra17lina: I think Joe's lying as his expression of regret. Like most, I figure he believed DJT would be reined in by "the experts" and learn to play ball. "How bad could he be?" was the Big Question. "At least he's not Hillary" was also said a lot.

Joe's still on tv and feels the pressure, and he knows he's pretty powerless to do anything to stop the juggernaut he and his friends fueled, the leprosy they happily spread.

All the puny pearl-clutching is the best they've got now.
