Does everyone in the US strongly identify with a political party? I kinda think political parties are a major problem, but one that will never go away either. I'd rather be identified as individual with opinions on various topics than as a supporter of a party. I dunno, maybe i'm splitting hairs.

@Stevo If there is a hope for democracy, it's going to be in the US discovering how to develop a mechanism for separating issues from party affiliations.

The US is currently the most powerful nation on earth, and if it doesn't figure out some stuff quickly, it's in serious danger of coming unglued internally.

If that happens, there is no limit to how bad the global situation will get.
