One thing that really annoys me when I shave my beard is that the formerly beard covered parts of my face feel extra warm for a few days afterwards.

It’s uncomfortable.

@EnochianEntropy does it feel warm or sensitive? i always would have thought it would have felt sensitive.

i wonder if that's your skin acclimatizing to lack of covering?

@singlemaltgirl Hm. Yes, it’s actually a sensitivity, it’s cooler when I go outside, now that I think of it - and the warmth is generally around where my breath is expelled from my nose.

@EnochianEntropy fair. my son says his beard protects in the cold but also moderates in the heat. i dunno how that works. but he has that full bush beard (i hate it) but as he says, he's not trying to date his mom. eww. his gf seems to like it. so whateves.

why did you decide to shave it?

@EnochianEntropy Can we have a close up of your freshly smooth chin? For "research purposes" only* of course. @singlemaltgirl

*note to self: buy more lube.

@stueytheround It’s awful and the worst and my face is bulbous and weird, an squamous nightmare. @singlemaltgirl

@EnochianEntropy Being a man who can not grow a passable beard, I feel your pain from the other end of the spectrum. @singlemaltgirl

@stueytheround @singlemaltgirl Mine’s somewhat in the middle of passable and not. I have a couple spots I wish would grow out better but it does pretty good.

I’ve been bearded since my mid 20’s, so pretty much all of my adult life and most of my “I can grow a beard” life.

@stueytheround @singlemaltgirl Unfortunate. Mike didn’t get too bad. Not great, but not terrible.
