OK folks, serious discussion. Let's put all emotion aside (as much as possible) and ponder the ultimate outcome if the slogan "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" were to become a reality. Assume it is not hyperbole and that the people who chant it genuinely want it to happen. What would it actually *mean* for the Israelis and its Jews in particular? What would it mean for the Palestinians and the greater Arab world, and the world in general?

The best answer is "trouper," meaning a member of a troupe, or company of performers, that recognize that "the show must go on" despite adversity. A "trooper" is properly defined as a state police officer, cavalry soldier or paratrooper.
