@BillieBun Never thought to try it before with crumpets, but we were given some so I gave it a go. Really works. The texture is nicer than most burger buns.
The patties are a home made "cheat" I invented. I add mixed canned beans (taco mix in this case) and veggies to a pack of instant sage and onion stuffing (like paxo), spice it up and fry them slowly in a little oil.

I love the texture of crumpets. They're hard to find in the States, but one of the nearby shops usually has them.

Never thought to use them as a sandwich!

I've never had a crumpet, but I've found that English Muffins make a good sandwich. They hold up so much better than a burger bun. I really like the texture of them.
