As you may have seen, my FIL is considering buying me a portable P.A. for upcoming gigs. It costs £300 which I will have to pay back asap.
So Amarand suggested I do a #SongForCoso on a 50/50 basis with half the money going to support coso and half going toward buying my kit.
I write the song.
I record a youtube vid.
When an agreed target is reached, I publish and provide receipts.

Comedy songs are all well and good, but I do prefer to write deeper lyrics if I can.
So for those who missed it, this is the kit I hope to have soon.
£300 at current rates is just over $350US
To fund it completely on a 50/50 basis would therefore need donations of about $700.

Sensible songs? How earnest are you looking for? I mean, there's dignity of the working class, there's the plight of refugees, the stresses of the pandemic...I'm not sure where one would even begin. Of course, that's why I'm emphatically not a musician. 🙂

I like writing protest songs particularly. It's a wonderfully cathartic thing to do.
Dylan and Bragg are both heroes of mine.
Just thinking how difficult to fit into a meter-beat the phrase "socio-economic catastrophe", is.

Do you know the Legend of the Three Trees? It's a kind of retelling of the Gospel.

I just googled £300 in USD
It gave me $365 as a result.
So I think erring on the side of caution is a good idea.
If we raise more than double what I need, I will give 100% of the excess to coso, so it's a win-win either way ❤️
