The on-call maintenance guy apologized profusely for the rental company's slow response. He did the best he could until we can get a heating company here later today. I'm in long johns, under 2 comforters and heated blankets, so I'm going to get some sleep, then call them when I'm up and coherent.

@spooniechels you should get some of these as a backup for next time I guess, we have a couple of them in our 1 br in California and they work great. if they overheat they will shut off automatically. many vornado models are Made in USA :)
