My mother-in-law was born in 1910 in a Japanese occupied Korea. She was forced to learn Japanese, and to suppress her culture for Japanese traditions. My sister-in-law, born in 1930, also spoke fluent Japanese.

After 41 years together, Angie has talked more about her mother's life in the last week, than in all our years together.
