You, American person, still have one trick left up your sleeve.
Once this entire fascist dictatorship gets set up, you can participate in a General Strike to bring the country to a halt. This country depends on slave labor to keep it running. You can stop being a wage slave. It works for unions all the time. Since those are at risk in this administration, it might be time for us all to form a "more perfect union".
It is your patriotic obligation and right to overthrow a corrupt government.
Teachers realized during the height of the pandemic: without us going in to schools to work everything shuts down. Same effect as a general strike, much easier to organize.
Teachers in right-to-work states have been reluctant to strike, it meant losing license, but maybe these days with a teacher shortage it’d be different.
@sirgeefive The teamsters and Shawn Fain were making noise about helping organize a general strike in 2028, but I feel like a lot of damage will already be done by then, and I'm not seeing any messaging on it for months now.
I have been supportive of doing a general strike for a long time. People act like "that's crazy", largely I think, because they've been _trained_.
I think we should do it.
@sirgeefive
I keep hearing this "General Strike" wishful thinking every year or two, and it always omits two points:
1) General strikes are almost impossible to organize;
2) General strikes have, historically, never been effective.
So it's a nice blunt blade to have in your arsenal. You can hang it on the wall or something. It won't do any good.
