@Le_Canard_Noir Who are you suggesting could replace him? No other Democrats are running.
@Le_Canard_Noir I have made no argument, just asked a question. Now, how many states would allow a different candidate on the ballot than Biden at this point? Many states are past their filing deadlines.
@sirgeefive There’s a lot of misinformation out there (some of it from The Heritage Foundation of You Know What), but if Biden released the delegates by July 20th almost all the states would be fine with it—and that date is largely because of the DNC’s own rules about affirming the nominee.
Think of it this way: what if, God forbid, Biden died or had a debilitating medical situation? Allowances would have to be made then too, right? This should actually be easier…if Biden cooperated.
@Le_Canard_Noir I voted in my state's Democrat primary. I am 100% positive that there was a primary. Are you perhaps referring to some sort of nominating convention? I am not sure what you mean by your statement about the GOP having a primary.
@sirgeefive The GOP had primaries or caucuses depending on the state, but obviously for most of them Trump was the only name on those ballots.
@sirgeefive No other candidates save Dean Phillips dared to run…because Biden and the DNC made it clear that dissent would not be tolerated…which is fine if you’re not trying to hide your candidate’s increasing infirmity. (Even the GOP had a primary, bad as it was.) But your argument is because no one else ran, no one else can run, which is absurd.
And Kamala Harris right there on the ticket, whether at the top or as VP, which should negate legitimacy questions. It should be on the table.
