@voltronic Sauron forged a total of nineteen rings in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium. Three of these were made specifically for the Elves, seven were made for the Dwarf-lords, and nine were made for Men. However, Sauron secretly forged a more powerful ring called the One Ring, which he intended to control and dominate all the other rings. This One Ring had the power to rule over the wearers of the other rings and corrupt them.

That's not what I was asking him about. Sauron made a bunch of other rings before making the Seven and Nine for Dwarves and Men.

And yes, the three for the Elves were never touched by Sauron's hand since they were made after he left Eregion. But they were made according to his specifications, so to speak so he still had some control over them.
