Wow, my eye doctor's clinic is closed.
I knew federal places are closed today but I didn't think that doc's offices would be. Especially since I called them on Friday and they were closed.
It's a good thing this isn't urgent. Oh wait, it is because it's been 3 weeks & I still haven't been able to get my prescription eye drops for my dry eye issue, despite being told last week that they sent in the new insurance-approved medication to Walgreens who said they don't have it.
@see_the_sus Have you considered just getting some OTC saline eye drops to use until your physician and pharmacy get their acts together?
I do.
OCuSOFT Retaine MGD multiple times during the day.
Refresh Celluvisc Eye Gel at night.
Both of these are obscenely expensive and so the more frequently I use the Retaine, the more I have to buy.
@see_the_sus And today ius a federal holiday in the US. Meaning, no banks or mail.
I know that federal places are closed but I didn't expect private drs and hospital networks to be closed. My mom's primary dr is open because I had to call them earlier.
@see_the_sus I feel for you. My partner is playing the 3 card monte game with CVS right now with his prescriptions. Where are they? Maybe here, maybe there. Good luck with your phone calls. Notice how the administrative burden is always on the patient?
Hope your situation is resolved quickly.
thanks. ♥️ I've been taking Xiidra since '18. Prior to that, I was on Restasis.
But because I'm now on a different insurance, they refuse to accept my medical history & are insisting I have to go back to Restasis. This after first denying the Xiidra & then denying some other brand I've never heard of. That process took 2 weeks.
Some of the onus is on me because I'm so busy dealing with my mom's medical care that I often forget my own phone calls to make.
@see_the_sus The problem is that the US doesn’t have a healthcare *system.* The US has a web of profit-making companies in which patients, doctors, and other medical professionals are ensnared. This spiderweb purports to provide “health care” but its real function it to capture little bugs (i., e., sick people) and squeeze money out for as long as possible.
Too cynical?
The only thing in my favor right now is being on Medicaid. The medical care is mostly great, it’s the fucking insurance asswipes that’s the problem.
Ok, I give up. Even my GYN at Lovelace Women's Hospital is closed.
I try to break up the massive amounts of calls I have to make for myself and my mom into different days so that I'm not getting totally mentally exhausted but it looks like I'll have to get my calls done tomorrow.
Having worked in retail for far too many years, (whether in-person or office), it's hard to accept that other industries give their employees more than one day off.
