The first thing I saw this morning was video of the catastrophic collapse of the Key Bridge in Baltimore.

I don't quite know what to think about it. We talk about decaying infrastructure, but the Key Bridge was only 47 years old, and there are much older spans that have stood the test of time.

I dare say there was a series of procedural errors and miscommunications that led to the collision, which will be investigated and reported on, but a lot of this looks like horribly bad luck.
