So, hopefully I'm crazy, but *possibly* an opossum has taken up residence under our front stoop.
If that is the case, should I be trying to oust it? My DW seems pretty blase about it. I'm remembering what it took to rid our place of our rat infestation...
Possums are pretty benign, they eat ticks and can't get rabies too.
@rpardee They'll eat their weight in pests, but they're notorious carriers of rabies.
Don't try to kiss 'em and you might be fine...
@rpardee They are fairly harmless, and they eat ticks. I’ve only had them living in my yard though, not my porch, so I’m not sure how big of a nuisance they might be.
@rpardee I have a back porch possum so I looked it up on a wildlife website. They don't carry rabies and eat pests I need to keep away besides the occasional dry cat food found and consumed. The feral cats seem pretty happy with the possum so I have been live and let live also.
@Whovian10 holy!
My evidence:
- neighbor texted me 2 nights ago to say he & his spouse spied a possum on our porch
- last night coming home after dark I saw a small, white-furred something run off
- DW's recently-planted tulip bulbs have been dug up
