But I'll tell you what, people out here can parallel park. Seriously.
@BlueStateBabe We had drivers ed in high school in Wisconsin, it was a required course. Every Wisconsin kid knows how to drive in the snow, turn into a spin on black ice and parallel park 🤣🥰🤣

Key is to pull up close to the car in front. Cut your wheel when back of that car’s bumper is in line with your back seat. Cut wheel back when your front tires/dash are aligned with that same bumper. Pull forward to straighten. Works like a charm if you don’t fear pulling within 12” parallel with the car in front of empty space.
@USAPatriot @rpardee Close to what I learned. The second half involved cutting the other way when the driver's side mirror showed the car behind.
@BlueStateBabe @rpardee good one. It all helps. Poor kids today; no stick shifts, no parallel parking, no cigarette lighters!
@BlueStateBabe @rpardee Call me crazy but I love parallel parking. The tighter the spot the more fun to get it right the first time.
@rpardee
When I taught my daughter how to drive, she was having difficulty parallel parking.
Turns out, it isn't required in the state she lived in. So we dropped it.
I, on the other hand, grew up on the east coast, and you couldn't pass your license test without being able to parallel park.
There is a simple formula that makes it work, that kids aren't being taught anymore.
Unless...they are in Wyoming, perhaps? 😀
