What do you do when you have insomnia and cannot sleep?
@quinnsentialOne just hang out. It is what I do.
@quinnsentialOne I mentally recite the ABCs backwards and mentally recite a Buddhist mantra. Works every time. Valerian tincture sometimes.
@quinnsentialOne
I lie in bed with my eyes closed and tell myself stories, the more involved the better. "The soldier who put death in a sack" is a good one, also the stories of Gideon and Jonah. Each becomes a well-traveled road -- I conk out earlier with each retelling. If I wake up again that night, I pick up at the last bit I remember telling. If I don't fall asleep, at least I'm entertained.
@ImagineThat Have you ever reached the end of a story and stayed awake?
@quinnsentialOne Sip some hot tea or hot chocolate. Then get comfortable while watching a mellow movie with the sound low.
@quinnsentialOne toss and turn for hours haha.
I also take melatonin nightly bc I can't sleep otherwise.
Sometimes I'll try to read something not on a screen for a bit but idk I have terrible sleep habits
Wishing you many zzz's soon
@quinnsentialOne Read, usually. More often, lately, I scroll through here. There's quite a UK and Australian contingent!
@quinnsentialOne melatonin
@quinnsentialOne I put on a Darkfluff video from YouTube. He reads reddit stories about sort of bad people. It is oddly relaxing.
