I shared trauma of xenophobic harassment due to my accent and someone responded by saying I horrified them by not wanting to lose my accent but instead persisting in being unintelligible. There are exactly two Nauts who have heard me speak. This person is not either one of them.
@publickovacs I meant to reply yesterday but was pretty scattered with all the things. I don't know if this is any help, but...Shit-heels are everywhere, but at least here you can block them and hopefully not spare another thought. FWIW I enjoy hearing accents because it shows IRL the old adage that we're a nation of immigrants. To me, that's a positive. The school situation- Wow! That's rough. Not in my wheelhouse, so I don't have much to say beyond "Hang in there". I hope it'll get better. 💛
