My son and daughter-in-law are currently in Cusco, Peru, which has an elevation of 11,200 ft (!). They will soon head to Machu Picchu. My son has now been in every continent except Antarctica.
@poemblaze He must have great stories.
@dauphin87 Yes. A lot more than I do.
I got vicious altitude sickness in Cusco despite living in CO.
Machu Picchu was life changing.
@LnzyHou @poemblaze I would love to see it.
@MidnightRider @LnzyHou @poemblaze Pictures don’t do it justice. And for sure get your altitude sickness meds and acclimate properly, it’s very high up!
@yogapaddlerun @LnzyHou @poemblaze It's off my bucket list. However if things go well this year I'm going to replace it with a spectacular substitute in 2025. Unless I'm in a Trump prison camp for coso remarks read.
@LnzyHou Gorgeous. I'd love to see it in person.
Make plans & go
@LnzyHou I need minions to carry me up on a litter. 🤣
Nah. Train from Cusco to Aquas Caliente through the valley then a bus up to Machu Picchu. You don’t have to crawl or climb unless you want to.
@LnzyHou Much better
@poemblaze @LnzyHou The highlights of my two Peru trips were actually the Sacred Valley, Sacsayhuamán, Arequipa, Paracas (was there before the big earthquake) and Huanchaco/Chan Chan/Trujillo.
@KamloopsBob @LnzyHou I have some reading to do learning about those places.
Absolutely magical
@poemblaze 😍
