Cryptocurrency investors are more likely to self-report 'Dark Tetrad' personality traits, study shows
The correlational analyses showed that crypto ownership is associated with belief in conspiracy theories, support of political extremism, identification with non-left-right political orientations (e.g., Christian nationalism), and the "Dark Tetrad" of personality traits (narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism).

Donald Jr. and Eric, are launching a new platform called World Liberty Financial ~ a crypto platform
As part of his presidential campaign, Trump has pledged to turn the United States into the “crypto capital of the planet,” raising red flags that he could use the federal government to help support a business tied to his family.
we need these people identified, given therapy, and not allowed to make important decisions
@Kinnison Pretty much suggesting that they are absolutely mentally ill and unstable right. 😜🤪😜
@nursefrombirth Now also featuring Barron, as the project's "DeFi visionary."
@nursefrombirth
What an excellent way to launder foreign campaign donations.
Isn't it though 🤔Criminals
@nursefrombirth Why.
Something just isn't right about it. IMHO
@nursefrombirth I dunno if that's a good enough thing to go on, though. For instance, that's the justification that's been used for people doing bad things to people like me in the past. For being gays, or freaks, or foreigners, or other Others.
I'm aware there's scammers involved in crypto schemes, as well as idiot ventures. I see that with regular money and business contracts, though.
Should we get rid of dollars because Alex Jones uses them?
@nursefrombirth The "crypto" part of this technology is "cryptography". You want good encryption.
The blockchain part (imho the important part) is just a large, really hard-to-spoof record that certain transactions occurred.
Most people are thinking about the "coin" part - where people trade as if it were money or stocks.
It's new and confusing. The tech is complex. It's the wild west a bit. But just because some HorridFlavorBros of the week latch on doesn't mean the tech is evil.
@nursefrombirth People are worried someone will use the anonymity aspects to move money around or launder it secretly and we won't know.
We don't know when that gets done with regular financial transactions either, and when we find out, it's piecemeal and nobody enforces anything. Worrying about people being sneaky with crypto feels a little like worrying about using your card online, but not giving it to a stranger over the phone.
@nursefrombirth I would tell people "do not invest in it without properly understanding what it is". There's a lot of shams and scams and "shitcoins" out there, because the tech itself is confusing and there's so much hype and misinformation.
There are also people who provide education and outreach for anyone who wants to know what it really is and how it works and what it isn't.
@nursefrombirth I also believe that #cryptocurrency investment requires an “always double down” mentality. No matter how poorly your return on investment becomes, or how much of your financial future you’ve jeopardized, you can never admit that you made a mistake.
Sounds a lot like one who is addicted to gambling. Gotta keep going mentality, I'll win eventually, maybe 🤔
@nursefrombirth this is interesting. I was literally assuming that what they had in common was wish fulfillment fantasies and gullibility. Now I feel even better about not buying crypto!
I have never been interested in crypto. Now I know why. I'm not a lunatic 🤪
Just say NO to #Crypto
🤪😜🤪
