@SSNBubblehead @normsmusic--There's a ton of value for media outlets like the Daily Beast knowing who is reading their content. If that's the cost of reading sometimes great journalism, it's a small price to pay. But the industry hasn't exactly distinguished itself by keeping subscriber info secure.

@s3friedman I don't mind paying for content. I'm a paying supporter here on CoSo, and subscribe to other websites & dead tree publications. But giving up PII just to sample the wares isn't a small price to pay, IMO. I'm really, really careful about that stuff, especially before I sample the wares.
