"Eight dead, 15,000 homes flooded as water recedes to reveal scale of Queensland disaster"
[ π¦πΊ Drought, CV-19, wildfires, and now this... i'm crying rn at the levels of loss and destruction. π]
@Mauve_matelot
just a couple of people in my MIL's family, but still it's another major disaster that no one had any notice or control over. The hardships will be lasting and in some cases devastating. some of the businesses in those areas had struggled so hard to stay open or reopen and now have literally nothing but a $1000 AUD/adult recompense in disaster relief to fall back on,--just like their employees. so yea it's going to be hell for thousands of people.
@naikarrah A vehicle from Sikh Volunteer Australia has arrived in the past hour, details in the screenshot from π€
@naikarrah How are MIL Family doing after the flooding?
Is there anything specific they are trying to sort out at present?
@naikarrah My family have been impacted by flooding on several occasions and in 2015 my parents region was badly affected by Storm Desmond, some bridges took years to be replaced.
