On another note, @th3j35t3r, if you really want this place to be the best alternative for Twitter and entice users to leave there, you should figure out how to add a feature that's equivalent to the quote-tweet. It would def improve the UX, and you might find tweeters, ahem, flocking here.

@th3j35t3r I'm curious what others might think of that idea?

@ml8_ml8 @th3j35t3r Oof, no thanks.

I know some groups have found use for the quote tweet on Twitter, but mostly I see it being used to drive anger and create "Main Characters" upon which others can dunk.

I like the CoSo way, which is a combination of our cultural bent against the "subtweet" and the technological constrain that if you want to comment on someone's post, you have to do it directly.

@lenaoflune @th3j35t3r Unclear what you mean by this. Can you explain? How does a QT do that?

@ml8_ml8 @th3j35t3r My experience is that, since a QT disconnects a post from that user by creating a new thread of discussion, it makes it far easier to grow the visibility of a tweet while simultaneously removing its context and direct discussion with the original poster in that context.

These things together don't lead to the type of connected discussions that CoSo culture prefers, IMHO.
