Dear Cranky.. @RetiredLEexec I do hv a lot of feels for your situation. My daughter also had a port - I think it was for nearly 2 years. May your wife's outcome by the grace of the Creator be as good as my dot's. We are at seven years out. May the same, or better - be for your loved one.

thank you so much. there is so much happening. the decision tree is so convoluted. but the med is very hard on the veins. for this branch of the tree to continue to exist the port has to be. I too have a port and just last week my doc (same doc) talked me into keeping it one more year. I think she'll be fine. but the donut she wants me to get her after this is probably out of stock. oh well.
