sweet sweet vindication... I have a track coming out on a compilation on a well respected dnb label, being mastered by one of the 'best in the business' and I got the master back (which sounded overblown and terrible) pointed that out. The label boss said they are the best, etc. Eventually sent it back. Msg from Mastering Engineer "im so so sorry, had an 8db double linked chain on it, was overblown to FUCK" and I get a big apology from label boss lol. 15 years and I still get questioned π
@lilyunsub way to stand your ground. Did the do-over meet your expectations?
@JGNWYRK yeah, was perfect. I'm a big fan of the guy and his work which is why I was like "no way this right..." got the new version already, sent direct rather than through the label for us to give the thumbs up π
@JGNWYRK @redenigma @formica in 10 years of writing, mixing, mastering and releasing dnb... this is the first time I've had feedback like this. Its incredibly hard to gauge if you're at the level you believe you are without external validation like this.. so this feels great π
@lilyunsub validation is great!
