Has anyone ever gotten a job after receiving this in a rejection letter?
"we’d like to keep your resume on file as our team continues to grow."
do recruiters really keep the resume on file and look at it when other opportunities open up? or are they just trying to let me down easy?
@lfrum the latter.
@lfrum i have done both. sometimes there's this great candidate but who's not right for the job they applied for but i'd love to find a spot for them....maybe in future. this is after interviewing them and liking their energy and attitude.
and sometimes, it's to let someone lovely down gently. i want to be encouraging.
for some people, i just rip the band aid. it's simply a 'good luck with your search' and leave it at that.
@lfrum
I’ve had recruiters say that and never heard again from them. I think it’s better than “fuck off and die” (which is what what I call those letters).
It’s like you really can’t put a positive spin on a fuck-off-and-die letter.
