I wish coso had a way to change your username and not just your display name.
Your User ID is a database key, everything you do on here is identified with it. Letting people change 'em would be a complete debacle. Either you have to change EVERYTHING β including replies and mentions β or everything just gets left completely unmoored.
Neither alternative is tenable.

Never said it was "impossible", other than it the sense that "it's not possible that anyone's going to make that possible here".
I said it was a huge PitA, also what happens on different sites that organize their data in different ways doesn't have much to do with anything here.
