I wish coso had a way to change your username and not just your display name.
@mcfate battle.net lets you do it. I think Instagram does too and Twitter did the last time I used it.

Never said it was "impossible", other than it the sense that "it's not possible that anyone's going to make that possible here".
I said it was a huge PitA, also what happens on different sites that organize their data in different ways doesn't have much to do with anything here.

Your User ID is a database key, everything you do on here is identified with it. Letting people change 'em would be a complete debacle. Either you have to change EVERYTHING — including replies and mentions — or everything just gets left completely unmoored.
Neither alternative is tenable.
