Seventeen has been downloading shit from BitTorrent, (I know) and now Comcast is sending me DMCA notices stating that they can terminate my service if it doesn't stop.

I'm about as pissed off at him as I am at them. Monitoring every download seems like a serious invasion of privacy.

He had VPN enabled but didn't have his kill switch activated.

@kel tell him he should look at Usenet instead. No sharing, only downloading. Easynews is a few bucks a month.

Spectrum will *suspend* your account for DMCA infringement - it's not the ISP that's doing the monitoring, but they are getting the complains from the copyright holders who can track the IP while the torrent is running. If the ISP does nothing, then they are liable, so they are passing the complaint onto you.
