I am working on some 3D granny squares that are part of a Frida Kahlo style summer shirt.
Let's just say some patterns are easier to understand than others. I had to do this one 3 times over the course of several hours (yikes!).
I think the final product will be pretty. And if I get too frustrated, I'll just use these squares on a hat or some other small project.
@BlueStateBabe . That looks really fashionable. I love it.
@Cmnslivn Thank you. Here is a pic that shows how the squares are used in the shirt. A fun, unserious summer top. :)

@BlueStateBabe . Now I really, really like it. Is it cotton yarn?
Yes. I did not order their specific yarns, but am instead using what I have in my stash. I bought lots of cotton yarn from Hobbi.com last year, because it is difficult to find in the US. Not much variety of colors, weight, or texture.
@BlueStateBabe . I saw a sheet at the thrift store the other day that had the same bright colors and lively stripe patterns and I was so tempted to buy it to upcycle into a gathered tiered skirt. it would be perfect with your top. You are right about cotton yarn not available here in so many colors. I have wondered about Hobbi yarn. It looks like a decent quality. Have you been happy with it?
@Cmnslivn BTW, that skirt sound like fun!
Another great cotton yarn they carry is color shifting yarn made of 4 threads. The color shifts one thread at a time over the length of the cake, giving a nice, subtle change for most projects.
I made a sweater of their merino, and it was so stretchy that I needed something dif't for the cuffs and neck band. Was lucky to find a cotton/silk blend that was color matched, and it made nice sturdy cuffs/bands.
@Cmnslivn @BlueStateBabe and I STG, YT is spying on me. Here's a review vid that was on my YT timeline:
@BlueStateBabe @Cmnslivn Actually, I think she just posted that video, and I do subscribe to her channel - it was mostly a coincidence. ;)
@kismatt @Cmnslivn
Probably a spyware cookie somewhere in your computer.
Just watched it - I pretty much agree with her. Their cottons are THE best!
