Dune is a thing that I have loved since I was a teenager. I was a big fan of the novels. Iāve discussed previously how I misread Paul as a teen and have seen him differently as an adult (Iām evaluating Rand alāThor right now and the Wheel of Time in general - suffice to say, so far I like Perrin the most due to various similarities). Iāve not had to experience where something I loved greatly becoming something suddenly thrust into the mainstream before this.
@EnochianEntropy *waves*. Perrin fangirl!!!
@EnochianEntropy I was not happy about his changes at the start of the WOT live-action, however. Made me mad!!
@kismatt Itās like how they skipped Caemlyn and went straight to Tar Valon - it was their destination, you didnāt need to introduce new concepts or locations. Simplifying a very complex world/story is good so you can ironically, shove in more complications and story.
@kismatt Creating a whole new character just to kill her within 5 minutes of the show starting is annoying.
Compressing Perrinās guilt and his fear of himself and his strength, his hatred of violence, all in one swift move - makes sense narratively when youāre dealing with a compressed storytelling period.
