Well that was a fun evening. St Louis had an ice storm last night into this morning, and when I stepped out the door to go to work, I landed on my butt. Drug my butt back into the house, called work and went back to bed. When I got up this afternoon the leg didn't feel any better than it did after I hit the ground, and so I debated going to have some look at it and by the time I got around to it all the urgent care places has closed and so I ended up at the ER.
Diagnosis: broken fibula. God.
Oh, no! I'm so sorry.
We had our ice storm last week, and I was adamant about not going out the first few days. Then poured used coffee grounds in a path from door to car, for a bit of traction, so I could buy sand and salt.
I was so hypercareful because I had my first broken leg a handful of years ago, and it was an experience I DON'T want to repeat.
Hope your doc doesn't wait a week to set it like mine did. Maneuvering stairs? ACK!!! May your arrangement be better.
@BlueStateBabe The back patio looked *wet*. It was a sheet of clear ice.
This is my second broken fibula. I broke the other one in 2001 right after Memorial Day.
THe kicker here is that I live in a townhouse, so I have steps.
This really sucks.
@BlueStateBabe I do, but I am able to navigate the steps. Slowly.
I can't get into see the ortho until NEXT WEDNESDAY. I am very very not happy about this.
I ache from my shoulders to my ankles.
