The people who are attacking schools, mosques, churches, and synagogues are not a "militia".
They're lone wolf terrorists inspired by known online terrorist groups.
And because the "media" won't tell the public this and most people are too stupid to figure it out on their own, the terrorists are winning.
The terrorists want civilians disarmed because it makes easier targets.
The terrorists don't care if they themselves can't get guns, they'll just switch to bombs (again).
@Render
So, what is/are the root problem(s)?
I walk it back to our culture.
We have a group that is primitive and has not developed sufficient empathy or comprehension of the value of community.
The US culture edifies the strong loner.
The weapons are accelerants in that equation.
@jurban The "root" problem is social media not just allowing these groups to grow, but in some cases actively encouraging their growth.
Places like Twitter, Facebook, and Telegram do this mostly out of greed (hate makes clicks, clicks make advertising money), and to some extent out of misguided politics.
When Twitter refuses to ban accounts w/nics like "JewKiller1488", that's encouragement. Just as it is w/al-Qaeda and ISIS.
Death threats are not free speech.
@jurban Also...
You used the word "accelerants" quite correctly...
@Render
Quite a perspective.
I wonder if anyone in that dark hole is redeemable.
@jurban Some people are just not redeemable.
