I'm wondering what's going to happen in the area some are calling "The Cauldron", south of Izium? Seems like they are stalling the advance by blowing up the bridge between Lyman and Sloviansk, but they are going to get trapped if they can't protect Sloviansk.
@jurban You've heard of defense in depth? Ukrainian defenses around the Cauldron area have been building up since about 2015.

Sure, but Ukr's 57th is said to have been possibly encircled by uawardata.com. Doesn't look like a lot of flexibility to leverage if the tied turns.
@jurban 57th has not been encircled that I know of, and both the Ukrainian 3rd and 4th Armored Brigades are right behind them.
Or Henry hasn't put that on the map yet.
57th defenses are in depth, and they are very deep.

Damn, I'm glad you provided that link. I've been wondering toooo long what those symbols meant.
So, the 57th is a motorized infantry brigade, 2k-20k. That makes them a lot more nimble.
Seems like a lot of the mechanized (tank) forces are widely dispersed. I suppose the Ukr army isn't planning to use that asset type as a primary defense.

Russia shells empty ambush point. Creating additional fortifications out of rubble and shell holes.
Ukr returns to first positions.
Russians advance into another ambush.
Rinse and repeat.
