Well, that was one shitty day.
Stuck in a elevator, escaped, and warned the building manager.
Berated by the building manager.
Informed the HOA of the berating.
Berated, individually by members of the HOA while escalating to my wife. (she already knew)
Friend completely lost it after telling the story and almost became an ex-friend without me saying much of anything.
WTF is going on?
Sure, I didn't handle everything perfectly. But, that was a series of undeserved, nasty reactions!
@dz
I pressed the open button three times after the gate closed and the elevator didn't move.
My wife would have had a breakdown had she been with me.
@jurban
what did they berate you about?
@dz
Texting the building manager at 6:45am. (I considered it a risk to other residents.)
And, that I was complaining about the actions of their employee that can do no wrong.
odd that they all objected. are they family or something?
@dz
No. Just like-minded. Self-edifying. Everyone is an enemy. tiring.....
@jurban So sorry.Today I went around in circles with a CSR for my cell service.They obviously didn't understand the vocabulary needed and gave off the wall, or repetitive answers that were irrelevant to my problem. It would have been funny if I weren't on a deadline to get to a meeting. Finally just asked to speak to his supervisor, who told me I'd have to go back to the store. Grrr. Then, after the meeting, sat down and figured a way to fix it myself.
Tomorrow will be better for both of us.
@BlueStateBabe @jurban Better Tuesday Morning to both of you! 🌻🌻☕️☕️
So far so good - except the elevator locked us in again.
My wife started to panic.
And then, after 20 seconds, the door opened. We exited, took another elevator and walked around the building to our car.
She emailed the HOA.
They said it's working.
And it is working - an hour later.
We have a self-healing elevator and an unempathetic HOA.
I'm going to search for the gremlin living under the elevator and get this fixed myself.
I forgot to mention that the elevator magically fixed itself in the 15 minutes between when I warned the building manager and when she checked it out.
This was her response:
