I suspect tanks are less effective in urban warfare.
Building-by-building clearing requires boots on the ground.
True, and your right, tanks arent great unless your going to destroy the city like they did in WWII
But there should be a good mix of APCs and truck, and when i zoom on those images, i dont see a lot of APC's either

Maybe they are pre-positioning them on the perimeter ready to move in when the heavy-weapon activities have run their course.
This is an opportunity to influence those troops to defect. Many probably don't know that this is a kinetic war and not a drill.

I wonder if they have any control of that airspace. It's often shown on current tracking maps to be under Russian control.
