I just heard an interesting and dangerous thing from someone who supports Trump. When asked to justify the dismissal of the extreme things which Trump states, she promoted the idea of ignoring what Trump says and focus on what the campaign says.
I suspect this is how many people who are planning to vote for him resolve the cognitive dissonance.
