Reading some small articles about the electoral college… the reason we have it basically boils down to slave states.

They objected to everything. The North wanted direct elections. The slave states hated the idea that Blacks could vote (news flash, the South STILL hates it).

This is why we have the electoral college. Compromise to racism.

We should never do that again.

And yet, it’s happening again.
