@rych Maybe that's my issue - I haven't sat down and deliberately listened to any entire albums yet. Just a bunch of "top tracks" lists.
Do you have a recommended album to try as a whole?
@john_b "Take Me Back To Eden" in my opinion their strongest album, but their first one called "Sundowning" I think is the second best one.
@rych thanks! I'll give those focused spins today.
@john_b cool, I'd be interested to know what you think of the albums as a whole or any stand out tracks for you.
@rych Almost finished with my first straight-through listen of Take Me Back To Eden... and I think I like it.
And I think I realized why I was struggling to catch what Sleep Token was putting down. My previous exposure had been to individual tracks included in various metal/core playlists. ST has some metal elements but I don't think their musical style really fits into any single genre. I wasn't able to appreciate what they're doing when trying to hear it through a "metal" expectation.
@john_b yeah when I've tried to describe them, I can't. They have almost carved their own genre of sorts. I don't think of them as a metal band. They look like one but that's about it (all imho)
@john_b which albums have you tried?
