@th3j35t3r My children are bi-racial. Being sort of new to the area, as I signed up my oldest for kindergarten on the application the choices for ethnicity were limited. I explained that my children were not "white" they are more than that. I was instructed to put "white" and just let it go. So I go to my first PTA meeting and stood up to speak.. immediately I heard whispers.. "she's not from around here, is she?" JFC I'm still dealing with it today. My kids are in their 40s.

people need to get over deifying categories. they're tools, folks, and they constantly need sharpening, upgrading, etc.

i'm really sorry you're still having to deal with it.
