Cardinal males jousting for territory has begun, after a winter of peaceful, more or less, feeding together as a flock.

lone grackle surveying the feeders, not hungry, ate one peanut and a couple seeds, but was mainly checking to see if it's as it was here.

some black squirrels sporting a deep auburn coat. being grey squirrels, which have red overtones, it appears they're developing the redness in the black. it's quite lovely colour, rich and deep.
