So annoyed with our bank lately. They cut branch hours and staff way back during Covid and then figured they were saving so much money they didn't bother putting them back.
So if you have to visit the bank you need to take time during working hours. Because they usually only have limited staff, the wait time is ridiculous.
I had to go to deposit a check for work, there were two tellers working, and two people ahead of me in the line and I waited FORTY minutes.

The reason I went in is because with a large check they put a hold for like 4 days if you deposit through the ATM. We get checks sometimes for like $5-10K from some of our customers. Got back to work and logged in to the bank to find that they put a hold on the check for TEN business days! 😡
Called them, got put on hold for 20 minutes. Drove back to the bank, threw a fit - this is a customer we've had for years and it's not the first check from them.

@nonayadambidnes clearly time to find a new bank.
@nonayadambidnes the key for me has been to have at least two different banks. I was with ING Direct from 1999 until they were bought by Capital One. My relationship with them has been almost entirely online. Then, we've kept a local bank for physical needs like cashing huge checks or getting cash. "Local" meaning something with multiple branches in your area or maybe the entire state or country. Wells Fargo and Bank of America have served that purpose most often. I've rarely been disappointed.
@nonayadambidnes nowadays, the ability to transfer money back and forth electronically is very easy and virtually unlimited.
@hallmarc I've been asking people who they bank with and if they recommend them and most people say no, lol - it seems like most banks are the same these days.
