The "meme" about Haitian immigrants stealing and eating cats and dogs and geese and ducks is not essentially different from the mediæval "meme" that Jews stole infants , drank their blood, and ate their flesh*, now known as the blood libel. Both were intended to dehumanize the minority group and prepare the majority to execute genocide against them.
*Recently resurfaced as part of the QAnon conspiracy theories.

@redenigma @DavidSalo I grew up with a very large influx of Haitians in my town in the late 70s and early 80s. Many of them were excellent cooks but nobody ever mentioned Turduckoose, even as a festive meal...😂
