@Bix there is a case to be made that the Jan 6 convictions laid the groundwork for and gave DOJ a much better sense of what they could charge Trump & Co with and have a good chance of success not only initially but also on appeal. The problem of trump is a sociopolitical one, not something the justice system can fix without conceding certain democratic principles. We all just need to keep voting out the assholes until there are none.
