Things would generally be a lot better if people took the time to go learn more about how governance in America works.

@kel

AFAIK, Civics hasn't been taught in more than 40 years. We've got at least two generations now that are largely unaware of how our government works.

Some high schools, here & there, still teach/taught it but they're very few and far between.

I'd be happy if our elected officials understood how our government is supposed to work.

@grayman @kel

Yep.

Dig up some of those Civics final exams from oh, the 1950s or so.

If they can't pass that exam, they aren't qualified to govern.

Or so it seems to me.🤷‍♀️

@Tarnagh @grayman @kel The ones from the 50s would likely be full of vitriol and xenophobia from the House Unamerican Activities era.

@grayman @Tarnagh @kel I think they know how it is _supposed_ to work, they just don't care.

They like the way it actually does work, where rich people pay for their careers and they get wealthy by legislating and ruling in their favor. Then they can invest in the industries they make policy for and do really well!

Stop voting for people who take bribes and patronage from our oppressors.
