Yup, if you live long enough you read the same articles about the same things over & over and nothing much changes. Homelessness is one example that comes to minf. When you're younger it all seems so logical that everyone must see it, and change will come. Then reality sets in,
@gemswinc And eventually, you realize that other people _do_ see it, they just have excellent ways of pretending they're seeing something, _anything_ else.
@gemswinc I keep being reminded of that sequence from the movie "Heavy Metal" where they wait until the barbarians are in the city massacring everyone before they call for help or even push the switch that barricades the door.
We've been dicking around with that popular vote scheme for decades. I worry it's too late to shit or get off the pot.
